Hello readers! After 13 years, I've decided to turn the Res Obscura blog into the Res Obscura Substack newsletter. Very little is changing, excerpt for the fact that I've returned to writing it regularly: I'm aiming for weekly posts about the stranger corners of history, focused mainly around my research interests of the history of science and medicine, globalization, empire, drugs, etc. It remains free to read, with no ads.
